Focus and Scope
Trade, Law and Development seeks to provide an avenue for the free exchange of ideas on issues of relevance to world trade, international law and development. The Journal commits itself to the cause of eliminating the problems that plague the world today, in particular the developing nations. It is in this spirit that we publish quality “Articles”, “Notes”, “Comments” or “Book Reviews” from distinguished and diverse authors, including, inter alia, judges, scholars, policy-makers, practitioners and students.
The following is a suggestive subject list outlining the scope of the journal:

Section Policies
Articles
Notes
This section includes shorter Notes and Comments. Notes cover a recent development or are issue specific in analyzing a "micro-legal" question.
Comments are essentially a critical analysis of an issue of relevance, including case laws, policy and legislative developments. Notes and Comments should be between 5,000-10,000 words in length. We encourage student submissions for this section.
Recent Developments
This sections offers a digest of the latest and significant developments in the focus areas of the Journal. These may often be in the form of very-short comments (2,000-4000 words) analyzing the implications of the developments and raising some important questions for future discussion.

Peer Review Process
All submissions are reviewed by the Board of Editors who may, if they so desire, subject any submission to a process of peer review.
The peer review process, if resorted to, usually involves two to three reviewers and takes 2-4 weeks from the date of submission for peer review. The submitted manuscripts are reviewed on, inter alia, the following parameters:
- Relevance;
- Structure;
- Content;
- Language;
- Originality;
- Cited sources.
Publication Frequency
Trade, Law and Development is a bi-annual journal published in yearly volumes of two issues each.
Apart from the journal website, where all works are available for free and open access as soon as each issue is published, each issue of TL&D is published in hard-copy, as well. Open Access Policy
This Journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. TL&D is a signatory to the Budapest Open Access Initiative.
"Open Access", with reference to Trade, Law and Development, is defined by the following characteristics: "free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work, to the maximum permissible extent, and the moral right to be properly acknowledged and cited." Archiving
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
